Automatic backup
An automatic backup service for data files in specified directories is provided by Microtron. The computer being backed up would normally be on the Internet and be backed up to a remote location in the cloud and optionally at Microtron. The backup location is accessible on your computer and if a backup is tampered with it is possible to revert groups of files.
Installation and management of commercial full system backing up products is also available from Microtron. Full system backup does not provide easy access to your documents but rather helps you to recover from a system crash. Full protection is provided by doing both data and system backups. If databases are backed up without using specific locks, a restored database may need to have a fix routine run on it, which is quite easy to do. Depending on the exact timing of events there could be some data loss, however backing up does occur frequently so this would not normally be much data loss.
This service is typically offered in the Hamilton/Waikato area. However remote desktop access can be used to do this if you are further away.
